Volunteer Experience

Not only is it rewarding, makes the world a little bit of a better place, but it’s simply extremely enjoyable to do. Here are all the current volunteer initiatives I’ve been lucky to partake in.

Campus Tour Ambassador
University of Guelph
Spring 2012
– Gave tours to interested high school students and families of the University of Guelph Campus
– Answered various questions about the campus, student life and other important topics to students


General Orientation Volunteer
University of Guelph Student Affairs
September 2008, 2009, 2011
– Helped assist in welcoming new students to the University of Guelph
– During move in day helped direct traffic to keep lines moving and everyone safe
– Organized and ran various events throughout Orientation Week including information sessions, BBQs, and activities


Central Orientation Volunteer – Truck Team

– In charge of the logistics of Orientation Week resources including tables, chairs and BBQs

START Online Group Leader

Summer 2010
– Took on a leadership and acted as a role model for incoming first year students via sending e-mails and the StartOnline.ca message board and live chats to help prepare them for their first year on campus.

– Raised money for the Heart & Stoke foundation
– Biked along a traffic free Toronto’s Gardner and Don Valley Parkway to show support

– Travelled around the community of Guelph, Ontario to collect non-perishable food items for local food banks
