“BlogTops” are weekly blog posts that myself, my good friend Fei, and hopefully you will join us in discussing topics that we feel the majority of millennials are dealing with or have dealt with in their lives. To keep it creative we pick one specific word for the weekly topic and then we are letting our imagination and creative writing take our blogs in whatever direction we so choose. It could be anything from generalizing the topic, to specific memories, to something serious, or funny. It’s anything goes! If you want to join along tag your posts with BlogTop on Twitter, WordPress, Tumblr, etc. and we will be sure to promote your blogs on social media!
This weeks blog topic is TUNES
Music is so important in life. It’s hard to express it into words how important it really is because there are so many different reasons for why it’s so beneficial. This list created by students has a number of reasons why.
For this week’s topic of music I’m going to focus on my current favourite genre of music… mashups! While the concept of taking elements of different songs and combining them together has been around for a long time. I feel this genre of music has really become popular among many millennials today.
There’s the stereotype that millennials have shorter attention spans. I personally do and this could explain why I like mashups so much. They take the best parts of all my favourite songs and then quickly move onto the next song before it loses my interest. It continually stimulates my brain and for me really lets me think creatively.
To give you some examples here are some of my current favourite artists and clips of their music.
Top Of The Pops 2011
Super Mash Bros.
Top Fun (Highway To The Rager Zone)
Here’s The Thing
I simply can’t get enough of these!
Also, since this directly relates to tunes. If you’re a big fan of Christmas music and want to get excited for December 25th keep coming back to my blog for my Christmas music advent Calendar! Everyday until Christmas I’ll be posting my favourite Christmas songs.
Till next week.
