Get A Mac

appleThis week is another humour based advertisement from Apple! From 2006 to 2009 Apple launched a television advertising campaign called Get A Mac. They used John Hodgman to represent PC and Justin Long as Mac and they did a number of humour based advertisements. However, Apple also uses another successful marketing technique in their advertisements. Simplicity. You’ll see in the following advertisement that the entire background is white. The point being that you’re focusing on the two characters and nothing else.

There is no background noise in these advertisements. It’s just the two characters and a pizza box. The simplistic nature of the advertisement really helps ensure the message of the advertisement is the only thing getting across to consumers. Plus I enjoy it because it reminds me of my University days!
