Amazing Race: Texas

Well today is the day! For anyone who didn’t read my New York City throwback post, I’m heading this weekend to Galveston, Texas for the American Memorial long weekend.

The reality TV nerd in me comes out whenever I do a big trip like this. I always imagine it’s like the television show The Amazing Race where they show a map of how all the teams are flying to the next destination. I always imagine a map in my head of how all my friends are getting there, and since there are 20 (yes 20!) of us coming from around North America… it’d be a crazy map!

Where everyone is coming from to get to Galveston!

Where everyone is coming from to get to Galveston!

That’s actually all the unique locations where everyone is starting out from. I’m obviously the one from Toronto, but I’m not flying from there. Ticket prices are so expensive in Canada that even including the cost of gas it’s usually cheaper for me to drive to Buffalo and fly out of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport . It worked out well because my flight stops first in Chicago where I’ll be meeting up with my friends from there! Perfect!

So I’ll be gone until Wednesday, but I’m sure I’ll have lots to blog about when I return!
